SG50 NDP Preview (Not at the Padang) - Everything Under The Singapore Sun

It is highly likely that you are not one of the super lucky 0.0001% percent of Singaporeans who got the tickets to watch the NDP, so where do you go to be part of the event of the year?

One word, ok two: Marina Barrage.

This is, hands down, the best spot to catch the most awesomest airshow and fireworks since the independence of Singapore in 1965. You get so close to the planes and helicopters as they fly past over your heads (twice!!) and also a perfect, unblocked view of the fireworks. Yes, I’m there just for the airshow and fireworks. In many ways, this could be more fun than sitting at the actual Padang itself! Things to bring: Picnic mat, umbrella, yummy food and snacks (we brought homemade onigiri, salad and leftover birthday cake), camera to capture memories and tons of #selfies, toys to keep the little ones entertained, torchlight and glowy things and time. Lots of time.
