It’s been a while but since each Amigurumi takes me a long time to make, I always search for a project that is worth my time. That inspiration came after watching the movie “Finding Dory”.
I know I can’t be trusted when it comes to Amigurumi patterns (after promising to post the pattern to this Elsa doll but totally failing at it) but this is the real thing! And it is FREE!
Here goes! I do amigurumi as a hobby so I hope you understand these terms:
Body – in continuous rounds
- Magic ring 6sc
- 2sc X 6 (12)
- 2sc, 1sc X 6 (18)
- 1sc, 1sc, 2sc x 6 (24)
- 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 2sc x 6 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1dec x 6 (24)
- 1 sc X 24 (24)
- 1sc X 24 (24)
- 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 2sc x 6 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1sc x 30 (30)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc x 4 (24)
- 1sc X 24 (24)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc x 4 (20)
- 1sc X 20 (20)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc x 4 (16)
- 1sc x 16 (16)
- 1sc x 16 (16)
- 1sc x 16 (16)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc x 4 (12)
- 1sc X 12 (12)
- 1sc X 12 (12)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc x 3 (9)
- 1sc X 9 (9)
- 1sc X 9 (9)
- 1dec, 1sc X 3 (6)
- 1dec X 6
Finish off and the body is done!
Next we will work on the flippers:
- Magic ring 6sc
- 2sc, 1sc, 1sc X 2 (8)
- 2sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc X 2 (10)
- 1sc X 10 (10)
- 1sc X 10 (10)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc X 2 (8)
- 1dec, 1sc, 1sc X 2 (6)
- 1sc X 6 (6)
- 1sc X 6 (6)
Leave about 10cm tail before cutting off. Make two of these! (Obviously)
Now we make the tail fin, which is actually two small flippers joined together.
- Magic ring 4sc
- 2sc, 1sc X 2 (6)
- 1sc X 6 (6)
- 2sc, 1sc, 1sc X 2 (8)
- 2sc, 1sc X 4 (12)
Leave a 10cm tail and end off.
Now to put all the pieces together like this:
The mouth is a chain of 48 crochets, double that of the picture below. Leave a long tail of about 15cm and stitch it to the bottom part of the face.
The small black eyes goes to the side of the mouth.
And we are done! Ooooooh Bailey detects more friends from Finding Dory are coming along!

I started this project and I’m stuck on the mouth. Will you please clarify what to do for it? I don’t understand the instructions they way they’re written.
Under SG Sun says
The mouth is a long chain of single crochets which is sewn on with a thread and needle to the body. Or you can glue it.

Hello, I’m new to crocheting and I was wondering how your Beluga has such a square texture. Could you share a tutorial on how you sc?
Under SG Sun says
Hi, there are many tutorials available online on how to do a single crochet. Here is one example: https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/single-crochet-stitch-tutorial-979083
G says
The way that this was written makes it seem like the entire thing was created in single crochets. When writing a pattern and need to have an increase or “two single crochets” in one stitch mark it as “INC.” not 2sc.

Please reply with a way to reach out to you. I will re-write this pattern for you, free of charge. I understood what you were trying to say, but others, especially beginners, will not understand your terms.
