When we first heard the news that a new Japanese themed market had ipened in Marina Square, we made it a definite point to go and check it out. It turned out to be a really fascinating experience even though I had a bad cough that day.
There were quite a few restaurants which looked fantastic but we didn’t get to try. We, of course, bought some snacks from the large Japanese marketplace. However, the feature of the place is definitely the beef and seafood section.
There was such a variety of fresh fish that the cat in me was overwhelmed. We really wanted to try one but we had no idea which one to get and it would be too expensive to try everything.
The aged beef section was really interesting. Usually in Singapore and most asian countries, aged beef is really rare and we prefer fresh beef in our diet. However, Shokuhin has a great aged beef selection… Mind you, at a price, of course.
Shokuhin is a place I will definitely go back again, with deeper pockets and stomach.
