Late night dining is always a challenge for us who work at night. Few restaurants are opened in the wee hours and we have to travel long distances in order to find food. To add to the inconvenience, many food outlets that we like have closed down.
This post is mainly for my benefit as I tackle the problem of finding good things to eat at night.
West of Singapore
McDonald’s (Bukit Batok)
Address: 632 Bukit Batok Central, Singapore 650632
Opening Hours: 24 Hours
Mcdonald’s are the first place we think of when it comes to late night dining. Many many Mcdonald’s in Singapore open 24 hours but so far one of the best Mcdonald’s that I have visited many MCD restaurants in the west area and this is the cleanest and has the friendliest staff.
Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak
Address: Boon Lay Food Court, 221B Boon Lay Place, Singapore 642221
Opening Hours: 6:30am – 3:30am
Hands down, our favourite Nasi Lemak in Singapore. The rice is savoury and fragrant and the fried chicken is fresh and crispy. And what is Nasi Lemak without delicious sambal chilli sauce! A cup of smooth teh tarik completes your meal.
Chester Express
Address: 964 Jurong West Street 91, Singapore 640964
Opening Hours: 10am – 4am
If you are craving for western food other than Mcdonald’s, then try out Chester Express. I tried everything from chicken steak to actual steak but the best thing on the menu is the grilled fish. Fresh and juicy, honestly it is the best grilled fish I’ve had in a kopitiam.
Xin-Wang Hong Kong Cafe (West Coast Plaza)
Address: 154 West Coast Road, #B1-04 Singapore 127371
Opening hours: 11am – 2am
Even if it doesn’t open until 4am, having delicious Hong Kong stir-fried noodles is a luxury at 2am.
Fong Seng Fast Food Nasi Lemak
Addresses: 101 Pasir Panjang Rd & 22 Clementi Road
Opening Hours: 6pm – 4am
What can I say? The Nasi is good and a wide variety of toppings. Not many people would mention this but the service is also good and the staffs are very friendly even at 2am.
Central of Singapore
Al-ameen Eating House (Bukit Timah)
Address: 2,3,4 CHEONG CHIN NAM ROAD, 599729
Opening hours: 24 hours but limited to food options
For the best indian muslim food late Singapore has to offer, Al-ameen is my go-to place. Don’t be tricked though. Al-ameen offers more than just malay or indian food. They also serve Thai, western and chinese style food. Pretty awesome for a late supper! My favourites are Tulang (bone marrow stew), naan and prawn briyani. Yum!
Tim Ho Wan
Address: 12 Kallang Ave, Aperia, Singapore 339511
Hours: 9am – 11pm Sun-Thu, 9am – 3am Friday & Saturday
Tim Ho Wan should be a stranger to none. This used to open 24 hours (we went there pretty often then) but since had been adjusting their hours over and over. I guess it is hard to cater as there is a low demand at night.
Rochor Original Beancurd
2 Short street, Singapore 188211
Hours: 11am – 1am (Sun-Thu), 11am – 3am (Fri & Sat)
For those late night cravings for smooth and delicious beancurd, paired with a sinful you tiao.
Hock Prawn Mee
43 Jalan Besar, Singapore 208804
24 Hours
For a full review, read my Prawn Noodle post!
East/North-East
Adam’s Corner
Address: 452 Serangoon Road, Singapore 328129
Opening hours: 24 hours
I recommend the Taiwanese style porridge here!
Fei Fei Wanton Mee
Address: 73 Joo Chiat Place, Singapore 427790
Opens 24 hours
With a long history of making their own noodles, Fei Fei never fails to deliver the best noodles and delicious wanton. It is comfort food available 24 hours!
Enak Enak Tea House
Address: 1202 East Coast Parkway, #01-01 East Coast Seafood Centre, Singapore 449881
Hours: 24 hours
Located at East Coast Park, Enak Enak serves 24 hours dim sum and Indian food with a million dollar view! The food is rather good and the portions are quite good for the porridge and chee cheong fun (rice rolls).
The rice rolls are quite delicious so I highly recommend this dish.
Sin Heng Bah Kut Teh
Address: 439 Joo Chiat Road, Singapore 427652
Hours: 7:30am to 4am
Craving for authentic herbal bah Kut teh at 2am? You can only go to the Geylang area for your fix! Sin Heng’s soup is rather flavourful and they serve up a variety of other dishes as well in case you are bored of Bah Kut Teh.
Wen Dao Shi
Address: 126 Sims Ave
Hours: 24 Hours
Located at Geylang, Wen Dao Shi is a great place to tuck in on a huge variety of delicious dim sum. The food is really good, I highly recommend the Braised Chicken Feet.
This post will be updated regularly as I continue to find more late night supper spots.
